Take a Seat

I was just going through the archives and found this wild ant chair. The photograph was taken outside an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

What do you think, would it fit in your living room?

  1. It wouldn’t, but I’d take it anyway. Who could resist her charme?
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Sorry, Roberta, but I just had to share this beauty with my friends on “ameisenforum.de*” in Germany. Of course I gave a link to your site and the article just below it, so I am hoping this could be only just alright – despite the rule “first to ask, then to do”.
Thankyou very much for the leafcutting bees stuff: I have been guite distracted too by bees earlier in spring, when the queens all came out of their earthen holes and building new homes for their offspring. And so many of them have such attractive fur-coats… (One of the most important lessons of my father being, that if one is careful one can even stroke them – and they seem even to enjoy the little bit of warmth that one shares…)
Distant thoughts and thanks, yours, Charles/Ossein.

  3. I so want this chair. It looks like it would be good inspiration for meditation leading to new ant research ideas.
